VA tested my Vitamin D levels and I'm low

Post by panthersix »

My primary care provider is new and motivated. She started testing her Veterans for low Vitamin D and found that out of the last 30 guys she tested, 25 were low. So she tested me and I'm low too. What does that mean?

Pretty much a whole host of bad stuff for your body and brain. One of my coworker's wife is a cancer researcher at Duke and gave me this web site for more info.

Best to get tested. I'm on a once a week supplement for five weeks to get my D levels back to normal. After than, I'm going to do more walking in the sunshine!

As long as your Risk Management worksheet mitigates the catastrophic possibilities your "uniform" might result in.

I was reading that article. Interesting. Maybe that is why I am generally on an even keel - perhaps a side benefit.

I take Cholecalciferol (VIT D3) two 400 unit tabs every day.

Not for depression but due to medical condition (kidneys) do not get (enough) Vit D from foods.
