Bravo57: Salt, salt and more ice melting salt.

Out here, it snows 6 inches, warms up to 33F, then drops back to 12F and everything turns to solid ice. In one week, I've gone through 200 pounds of ice melt just trying to ensure I could pull into my garage (my driveway has a slight uphill grade to it).

Everett Ruess probably has at least 5 times as much snow as I do.. I think Park City, Utah has been seeing 13"/day in snow totals.

BUMP!

We got an extra 2' of snow last night and its been snowing (with 30mph winds) all day. I figure I have over 3' on the lawn now! AWESOME!

We're getting 4+ foot wind drifts in certain spots!

Heh. I was going to ride my motorcycle to a buddy's parents' place for Christmas dinner, but it's snowing and sticking again. Looks like I get to booze up my coffee! :{D

It's just over 60F and overcast here. It'd be nice to see a little snow around here once in a while, but I'm not complaining, .

I got in my first 4wheeling snow ride yesterday. What a blast! 1-2' of powder.

Hit about 2' of powder, got high centered and had to winch myself out backward. :D

That the Oquirrh's?

Yeah, my snow totals have been magnificent! I took a picture Christmas morning that I meant to post, but haven't pulled it off the camera yet. My front door and garage door were blocked by a few foot tall snowdrift. I fucking love this place!

It's the Tintic mountains north of Eureka. I can't believe how many bucks, Antelope and assorted wildlife I came across.

As far as snow goes, you've got something like 60+ inches of snow up there now, don't you?

My yard probably has a bit less than that right now. The last big storm had that damn wind preceding it which blew most of the previous accumulation away before dumping it's own snow - kind of like starting all over with that storm, big though it was.

Funny, my grandma was born in Tintic (now a ghost town) which I believe was near Silver City. Underrated area for sure.

We got snow a few weeks back it stayed for a few days and then started to melt, and rained. A few days later had more snow then freezing rain, then more rain and more rain and now thousands are being evacuated to flee the flooding, City of Puyallup had a mandatory evacuation on the northern part of downtown that butts up against the Puyallup River. Another area evacuated is the valley that the City of Orting sits in, prayers out to Ranger Black 6 and his family since if I remember correctly they live in the Orting area!

the picture I took around 8:15AM this morning during my morning commute see the evergreen tree floating down the river, anyone need firewood?
