A story

Post by grj5001 »

I am a senior in college and I walked into the Army recruiting station and told them I wanted to join the army as an officer, moreover an infantry officer. I did everything to lead me onto that path until about 10 minutes after my OCS board interview. My recruiter who was a member of the 75th and now a personal hero of mine made me realize that enlisted and NCOs have all the fun. My recruiters were able to pull some strings and here I am with a 11B option 40 contract. I am excited as hell but also nervous. Its a huge challenge but I am training hard for it and I cannot wait to graduate and leave for Fort Benning.

Congrats on the contract, but what's the purpose of your story?

No purpose but just wanted to share my story. And what I thought I could do as an officer was actually limited. Thats why I enlisted instead of being commissioned. Sorry if the story was not appropriate for the topic.

Stories are never good unless there is violence, sex, or hero wins. So...?
RS Class # 7-76

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.
