Possible poser; supposedly trained Rangers in the '80's

In particular this claim, to be found on page 91.
He has trained both the Delta and Rangers, first around 1980, he also has CIA contacts from being in A/Stan in the early 80s.

He has extensive links with influencial figures in the US security services, how do you think he got the clinton gig.
The man in question is a certain 'Colonel' 'Baron' James Shortt.

Has anyone here ever heard of him?
