Hello all,

Hello all,
Hello my name is *****, I'm 17 and a high school graduate. I am not enlisted or in the DEP program due to medical reasons that are soon to be fixed. I went to MEPS on my 17th birthday and found that I had a hernia. I have been interested in SOF since I was 8. I chose the Ranger path because it appealed to me most. I come from a military family, My Father was 1stMFR and was gone most of my young childhood, my sister is an Army linguist, and my older brother is a TOW gunner in the Marines and is currently deployed. i would like to thank all the service men and women here for there sacrifice, and would greatly appreciate any advice you may have to offer to me about preparing for OSUT/RIP/RS.
My bad. Are you not using that code anymore??? :DScuba Wino wrote:Just never gets old..............Fucker!abn-rgr wrote:Welcome. You have a long road ahead of you. Work hard and never quit. If you need any guidance, PM Ranger Scuba Wino. Make sure you put "depeche mode" in the subject line. Its like a secret code.

Thank you Ranger abn-rgr and Ranger Scuba Wino.
I do have two questions that i hope the Rangers here can help me with.
1. How does having a hernia repair surgery affect my qualification requrements for an Option 40 contract?
2. Is there a forum here where i can find information on how to get back into shape after my recovery period? my recovery period after my surgery will be 90 days of inactivity.

Is that why I got a PM? Asshat!Scuba Wino wrote:However, I did forward him to the correct personnel on the site that can answer the specific questions he had. They were a subject I was not familiar with and didn't want to give him bad advice.

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.

A.Hackney, a man has only one opportunity to make a favoraqble initial impression, for the moment, I'm reserving judgement. If you truly want to earn a place in the 75th Ranger Regiment, you came to the right site. We take pride in the number of fine young men we aid in their journey of service. Please read all the FAQs as well as selected stickies and threads. I see the DEPs have contacted you. You also need to get your hernia taken care of prior to shipping for OSUT or BCT. Never, never quit!
