McCain=Socialist

Post by DJB »

Success, wealth and celebrity gained and kept for private interest is a small thing. It makes us comfortable, eases the material hardships our children will bear, purchases a fleeting regard for our lives, yet not the self-respect that, in the end, matters most. But sacrifice for a cause greater than yourself, and you invest your life with the eminence of that cause, your self-respect assured. -J. McCain
This is the exact same socialist anti-capitalistic shitbag sentiment that both Hillary and Obama are preaching. If you think their is any philosophic difference between these three you are deceiving yourself. The only difference is in the methods in which they hope to acheive their control over your life. Capitalism has brought more wealth and prosperity to the world than anyother means or system. The ideal which he preaches (as well as the other two want-to-be dictators via in the current majority race ) sacrifice for the greater good, is resposible for the greatest evil in the past century, it is a mirror of the sentiment of Mao, Stalin, and Hitler. That the individual should sacrifice himself for " A cause greater than yourself". SICK!

This election year I think I am suffereing from electile dysfunction. I don't really care for any of them, but in the end you need to vote for the one who will do the least amount of damage.

This is pretty much the same as the Carter/Ford election, or the the Dole/Clinton election. They put up mediocre candidates on both sides, and most folks stay home. Only the diehard Republicans or Democrats come out to vote. So in the end it is about 30% of the nation that puts the folks in charge of the other 70%.

Whoever it is, will suck, and most likely will get booted out in the next election. An election, similiar to this, is what gave us Reagan in the following election.

Who is the quote attributed to? If it's from John McCain, just take a moment to look at his wife. Wouldn't she be considered his material possession? She's got to be 40 years younger than he. Now if that isn't capitalism at it's best.. :D

And, I am in the same camp as rgrokelley; this election year is shit.

Although I'm now inclined to vote for John McCain, I don't hear the things being addressed that matter to me and my family.

I'd like to hear solid statements regarding:

- Getting out from under the massive debt we owe to foreign countries (Kuwait, China, etc.)
- Focusing our tax dollars on making the Social Security System solvent
- Eliminating the requirement to purchase foreign oil (open up our own reserves or requiring electro/diesel hybrid vehicles)
- Taking the fight to the enemy and allowing our soldiers to do what they do best
- Eliminate group-think and political correctness (in speech and in action)

I have been in Greece for 17 years now. 13 of them were with a socialist government and only the last 4 are with a non socialist government. The difference is that now I pay more taxes. Don’t ask me how this is possible I don’t know. What I do know is that everything else is the same. It’s equivalent to the difference with Democrats and Republicans. I have stopped philosophizing and realize that the same people keep getting richer and the same people are getting poorer.

They aren't how they are because they're rich, they are rich because of how they are! (God, I've heard that before, somewhere?!?!) :wink:
