Introduction
HI fellow servicemen and others:
I was a 13B FA in the NHARNG for 12 years. (Weekend Warrior) Was going for my 20 but hurt my back working my civilian job, so that cut my service time short. But I'm writing to join your Elite Parent Forum because
I'm a PROUD Dad of a newly born Ranger :D ,he graduated Jan 25,2008 and got his TAB..way to go son...(he had to do phrase 3 over, fell asleep the last 1/2hour of training and got caught. Trainer had said if he is wake when i get over to where he is - he passes...oops..hehe..but down time will do that, he was posting guard i guess. But it got him home for 2 weeks for the holidays this year instead of 4 days do to his unit getting ready to ship out..his mother loved it I may add) He signed up for the Army in 03 shortly after graduating H.S. He came home one day and said to me, guess what i did today, I signed up for the Army (without letting anyone know first) . When I ask why his answer was - you did it, pepere did it (my father) now its my turn to do it. (kid knows how to put a tear in oh dads eye) SO I ask him what he sign up for and it was Infantry. Told him what are you nuts (I was FA 13B ) and he said it will help me get a job working S.W.A.T someday cause I'm going to be a Ranger. He didnt leave for basic until June 06 because HE put himself thru 3 yrs of college and received an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice first 3.89GPA (he flunked the course on how to study, what a smartass.. ). He grad basic in Sept 06.. went right into jump school Oct 06 then straight to RIP/DEP school. He was assign to the 1/75 in Nov 06, has done a tour in Iraq and cant wait to meet up with his guys. His best friend in H.S. went in the Army in 03 and went in the Rangers aswell, he is in 2/75 and has been to Iraq like 4 times and Afgan twice...I sent them the link to this page so they know of this wonderful place to keep in touch....................So now I have 2 Ranger boys........cant be PROUDER
