LAYER CAKE

Post by Nomad »

No idea if anyone here has seen this movie, but it has the new James Bond, Daniel Craig, in it. It is one of the best European gangster movies to come out and was released in 2003.

I stumbled across it by accident last night in a DVD collection and popped it in.

If you like movies with a twist, this is one to watch. Some faces you've seen before and it has the "Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels" and "Snatch" feel to it.

Good beatings, shootings and killing in the flic. Nothing for kids to watch.

And Sienna Miller Image is ridiculously hot in the movie.

Spider Pig, Spider Pig, no one can do what a Spider Pig can...

Who's going to see the Simpson's movie, besides me?

Harry Potter 4/5/whatever

It was the same quality as the others. Something I like about these is the subject matter increasingly becomes more mature and dangerous as the kids get older, just like life does. I have not read any of the books yet, I'll wait until all the movies have come out. That Asian chick should be smokin' when the next two movies come out, and Hirmine/whateverthefuckhernameis will look like a crack-whore. I can't wait.

Pan's labyrinth

Pan's Labyrinth

I was surprised at how violent the movie was. It felt like the director was making a point in regards to the socialist system and why it should never come back. Oppression, desperation and one little girl stuck in the middle of it all are the main ingredients of the story.

7.5/10, IMO.

Pan's Labyrinth was pretty good, even if I had to read subtitles.

Go see the original movie. It is called "Infernal Affairs" and is way better.
Thanks for the tip, Ranger Matador275. I'll be looking for it!

HotRod:

Despite several actually funny scenes, HotRod gave the impression that the actors were trying way too hard to be funny. I felt like I was watching a fake Napoleon Dynamite. both movies had totally different story lines but shared the air.

Bourne Ultimatum:

Good, just like the others. I can't remember, did Ludlum write three Bourne books or four? I think the last book deals with Carlos the Jackal, right?

This reminded me, I would love to see Debt of Honor as a movie.

I tried watching this one. Guess I'm not much for European movies. Bored me to tears, shut it off halfway through.

Went to see The Bourne Ultimatum the other night. Great movie...each one of the series has been been good.

I just saw a preview for a new Halloween movie coming out at the end of this month. A Rob Zombie production
