If you ever felt the need to do something worthwhile...read Old Grunt's post over and over again. As a matter of fact, I'd print it out and hand it to my PSG if I were you. A little self-depreciating humor cloaked in the pearl of wisdom will make him feel a lot better about who he's going to have to impart his knowledge on.

Welcome
Although I concur with MOST of what has been said before (and I might get some crap over this) the Louie needs to realize we are talking about RANGER platoon sergeants!
I've spent some time behind the fence and I've spent some time in leg-land...and in leg-land there are some jacked up PSG's. I agree that a squared away NCO is a squared away NCO, but I'm sure the LT has enough smarts (he figured out how to get on this site and ask for help)to know if he's dealing with a PSG with an Old Grunt PSG or some t-r-double DD just putting in jis time for a paycheck.
Don't want to discourage the young lad, but just wanted to chime in for what it's worth.
Welcome
