Enlisted: Yes
Occupation: Infantry
Interests: Working out, Martial Arts, Politics, Current Affairs and Philosophy

Was led here by a friend who is a Ranger. I enlisted with the Canadian Army and was sworn in 10 days ago. Start basic training on the 4th of July.

Why am I here?

I want to take my military career as a soldier to the highest level I can. Figured I may as well surround myself with people who are already at levels I want to be at. Who knows, might end up getting to meet some of you in theatre as well.

My friend has Dual Citizenship, born Canadian but joined the American Army and got tabbed. If it wasnt such a hassle to get a green card, the 18x program your country runs really had my attention. I wish that our boys up here had a similar selection process for guys coming off the street. It would really help beef up our recruitng numbers (something we really need to improve), especially with the new Tier 3 unit that stood up this year.

Forgot the last part, born in Prince George BC. Moved around my whole life playing hockey though. Didnt ever spend more than 2 years in a city after I was 14. Yeah yeah, I was a suitcase haha.

I have been told I will be with one of the three Pat's battallions, hoping for the 3rd as they are light infantry and that role appeals to me more than the mounted one. Beggars cant be choosers though, I go with a fake smile and a thank you wherever they place me... maybe some swearing under my breath as I board the plane

Now heres where I need some help. Ive read you just pick an avatar, also read that you guys have set avatars guys have to use. I went and looked at them, haha as painful on the eyes as that was. Can I keep my countries simplified form of the crest, or do I need to revist Fabio and his friends?
