Thanks for clearing that up.CommoPuke wrote:Ranger Bill, Didn't seem to make it sound like I would give it less than 110%. Definitely, if that is the choice I make it will be with the full understanding and desire of the commitment involved.

I assume you did DGM and haven't done MSE yet?CommoPuke wrote:Hello, I am Nate. I currently serve in 1st Bde, 1st Cav. as a Signal Support Specialist/ SATCOM Operator and Maintainer. This is my second enlistment and I am considering doing the things I missed out on the first time around.
I was stationed as a strategic SATCOM'er for my 1st 6 years and then got out and contracted for USAISEC for 2 years. Being a civilian just wasn't my suited for me and I decided that making the Army a career is what I should focus on. Currently, I am a Specialist trying in the process of rectifying that situation.

If not...throw it back on the table!
No matter what MOS you end up with...
I would recommend you fight to keep the Uniform...
But that is just me....(Easier to get where you wanna go)
Learn the entire 25 series specturm...
Some places that comes in handy...
BTW...WELCOME!!!!

Raanger Tirehouse,
I have not done MSE you are correct about that. I am not sure what the acronym DGM stands for so I am guessing I have never done that either. I did strategic SATCOM work primarily before. CDS/SMU switch, Sat Modems, Promina, and multiplexers (TSSP, LRM, FCC-100) along with a few others.

Commopuke,
There are several things you need to do to become a 25S in Regiment... First go through Airborne school. I would reccomend then going through RIP (not ROP) and make your E-5 in Regiment. I say this because you will not get "hired" as a NCO until you have TacSat team-leader experience and a Tab(at least). PM me if you have any specific questions.
