Yet another DEP introduction

Post by Iceman87 »

Hey everyone, My name is Josh, and I have just recently obtained an 11x contract with option 40. I am currently finishing up my last semester of High school, and preparing to ship out on 20060613.

I have been reading a lot of information on this site in the past few weeks, and hope to benefit from the knowledge imparted by the Rangers participating in it.

Thanks for the great oppurtunity.

I'm in a fucked up mood, so I will say this........when many of us first "volunteered" for a Ranger assignment we didn't know what to expect, nobody told us how to prepare and we simply PT"d our ass off because we didn't want to fail. Sometimes I resent the fact that many of you come to our site looking for the "inside deal" in order to know what to expect and thereby have the upper edge.

Don't get me wrong we all hope you make it, but damn it..... all I ever heard when I first got my orders for a Ranger assignment was............ DON'T LET US DOWN..

SO fucker...............DON'T WASTE THE SLOT, MAKE US PROUD AND REMEMBER...........TO BECOME A U.S. ARMY RANGER is something to be proud of and if you accomplish your objective the things you learn in terms of your ability to persevere the most demanding of obstacles will carry you tor rest of your life.

Good luck kid....................make us and our Country PROUD, the fact that you join and voluteered during a wartime era specks volumes, just make damn sure you remember your resolve and why its important to defend our great land..........and in case you forgot....let me remind you of how you felf during this day

Welcome, Josh, it looks like there will be a number of DEPs from the site arriving at Benning School for Boys at the same time you are. As Bugsy points out, you will have a greater insight on what to expect during training than most of us FOGs did; but to succeed you will still need to be prepared to do things you never expected to accomplish. Over the next couple months PT, read, study and post seldom. Never, never quit!

Bugsy........you should be in a fucked up mood more often! Outstanding post! I think your post should be a Sticky for all new DEPs to read. Thanks for reminding us all about why we do/did what we do and keeping it real!
