My name is Eric. I am 16 and live in North America. I am a highschool student of good academic standing (not great, good). I currently work at a pet store during the weekends and during the summer I intend to return to my job at the army navy surplus store. I am interested in following a millitary career and have great respect for all rangers and other armed service members.
While I am introducing myself I figured I might as well kill two birds with one stone.
Before last summer I weighed in at around 235 pounds at 6'2. Obviously I was very overweight and I was disgusted with myself. I began heavy duty dieting and moderate excersize in conjunction with work and I am now 6'3 at 179 pounds.
I work out as best as I know how almost everyday and I eat very reasonably now. I want to pursue a millitary career as such activities have always interested me along wth firearms.
I know its premature to say I want to be a ranger as I want to be realistic and I am no where near fit enough to think I could even try it 2-3 years down the road, regardless I will likely join the millitary in one way or another. I am not accepting failure before I try but I still have a long road to go in terms of physical fitness. My acomplishments so far have filled me with alot of confidence but also an awareness of how these things require effort. I am increasing the amount of working out I do and everyday when I do I think about my future.
Aside from my introduction and the expected ass chewing I will likely get from one of you for some infraction or foolish comment of mine I would like to thank you guys for inspiring me to achieve and push my ability.

Welcome.
If, by dieting, you mean not eating junk and soda all day, then continue; but, if you are eating diet food and other fake shit, stop. Just eat healthy food like meat, chicken, fish, greens, and grains. Then...
Step up the exercise and run like a motherfucker. How far are you running right now? 2-3 years is a long time if you stick to it.
