Rangers, veterans,

Thank you for your warm welcome. To respond:
Ranger xray

Just one thing sir, when you practice law, and also practice in the civilian world don't dick over your fellow military family.
Good God, I hope not Ranger xray. One reason I joined the Corps -- even as a pogue, staff-officer lawyer -- *before* law school was so I could stay true to my ideals and not be tempted by the average $100,000 corporate firm job.

There's a saying in legal profession: on good days, you're an "attorney," on bad days, you're just another sh$$ "lawyer." I sincerely hope to be more of the first than the second, whether in uniform or not.
Ranger Jurena

While I appreciate your service to our Country, I'm curious as to when Marine Corps Legal, became "the dark side"?
Ranger Jurena, I referred to "lawyers" as the "dark side," not the Marine Corps -- and I meant it in the sense that there are more bad apples in law than there are in my former aspiration, medicine (both were originally very noble professions). Given that there are many washed-up pre-meds in law school, there's kinda a feeling that we went over to the "dark side."
Ranger Lefty

aaahh.....just so he doesn't go into banking...........

Ranger Jim

Or run for Congress...
Ranger Lefty, Ranger Jim; fortunately, I plan to do neither. If I don't make the Corps a career, I'd like to work for State one day -- in a non-political appointee way. Like it or not, lawyers are here to stay in America, and *somebody's* got to speak up against the snooty Ivy-League, leftist-anti-military lawyers of the world -- what better than a fellow snooty Ivy-League lawyer to put them in their place?

Rangers, I hope to be prepared to give legal advice in about three years. Until then, I'm going to stay out of your way, though I hope you will permit me to pop in from time to time. Thank you for your collective service, Rangers. Much mutual respect from the Navy (Men's Department).

Semper fidelis!

Welcome Sir....Remember Shakespear..".The first thing we do is kill all the lawyers.".....Most people tend to end the quote there and ignore the second part..."If we want total anarchy in the world."

Welcome Lt.

I'm proud to be an Army Airborne Ranger, and of the many accomplishments my fellow Rangers have achieved in war and peace.

Having just watched two History channel specials on what the Marines when through in Tarawa and Guadalcanal, I am reminded by those examples that the Marines have also performed honorable service for our country in war and peace. I would say you can be proud to serve as a Marine now. Semper Fi Lt. Lead by example and take care of your NCO's.
