Hello

Post by SgtSommer »

I figured I would introduce myself here, and then everyone could gain some insight into who I am and why I post what I post. I am a Ranger hopefull, currently finishing off obligations I hold in BC, Canada. I am an American born abroad, I hold citizenship, and I am proud to be American.

My current PT regime is the one found in the BUD/S warning order for the US Navy SEALs, and I am currently working my way through it for a second time.

I have not as of yet served in a front line combat unit, and currently I am serving in a paramilitary group instructing cold weather survival, aircrew survival and land navigation. I am also a cadet instructor for our local Air and Army cadet programs.

My father was an 11M, my mother is currently a reserve Air Force officer in the Canadian Air Force, and my grandfather was a combat engineer.

Send me, for I am ready...

Um, just to piggy back on Sgt Sommer if I may.
I to am new to the site. Im USAF Security forces.... Wich is underpaid Walmart security  . However, we SPs have the chance to earn the coveted black and gold, jump, air assault, SRT, pathfinder, counter sniper, and various other training...If lucky. Ive curently been given my J shred, wich means im an eye exam away from going to BAC. Ive attended USAF Pre Ranger Course and am due to go again this may. I dont think im a Ranger because of this... Im just thankful to elevate my feet for some of the most professional, squared away soldiers in the Army. So, pretty much Im a leg, wannabee with my eyes on the tab. Thank you for your time and advice. And if your in Dep... Dont fuckin let anybody tell you to go CHairforce. You WILL regret it :( . Hutch, out.

yea...i might as well carry on this post then. :D

i am a chinese-american born in the good old united states of america. i have been looking into the us military since the 5th grade. from my 5th grade to 6th grade year, i wanted to join the USAF. but after i got glasses, that dashed my hopes of being a pilot. then from 7th to 9th grade i wanted to be some sort of urban combat specialist. i didn't know any names of the military divisons. all I knew were the SEALs. then FINALLY in the 10th grade, i was inspired by the Rangers because i stumbled upon it in a movie called Black Hawk Down. The only obstacle that blocks me from becoming a Ranger are my parents. could anyone help me maneuver around them? i can't seem to tell it to their faces because i respect my parents a lot but i REALLY want to be a Ranger.

Hey Nighthawk.

Are you planning on joining the military right after high school or right after college? If you are planning to join the military right after high school, is that the reason why your parents don't want you to join the military, or is it because your parents disapprove the idea of you joining the military at all?

ShedNoTears: they said that if i am going to join the military, i should be an officer so i don't get killled. but that's not what i want! i want to see action! i might sound like some sort of greenhorn.....but i really want to see some action in my life and not stick around san francisco.

kduhg: they actually dont like me in the military at all. they say that i am the oldest and should set an example for my siblings. but i don't want to lead a normal civie life.

thanks for responding guys. :)
