Re: Introduction-Anthony
Welcome here Anthony. OSUT/AIT will help you get ready for RASP to a certain degree, but additional PT especially during AIT will be more beneficial depending on the MOS. What MOS are you interested in pursuing ? It's not all about crushing the APFT, there is plenty more that goes into it. There is ...

Re: Introduction- Option 40
Your ultimate goal should be to serve in the premier light infantry raid force in the world. Everything after that will be a disappointment. My ultimate goal for the military was to attend the PSD training course because I want to be a bodyguard or security contractor.

Re: Introduction - Dave
Welcome here Sir. In addition to this site, there is a discord server (he will probably know what that means, I had no clue) for ArmyRanger.com that he can join which will allow Dylan to communicate with other Option 40s. If he is interested in doing that, let me know and I will reach out to the adm...

Re: Introduction- Option 40
Welcome here Alex, knowledge is power so take some time to read everything here that you can.
As for your recruiter, he obviously never went to RASP because OSUT will not get you ready for it.
Look around here and get back with any questions.

Re: Introduction - Stephen
Stephen, please put the whole "I will plan on volunteering from OSUT" on the bottom of your list of future plans. Recruiters love this sales pitch because by the point you realize it's bullshit, you're off to your first leg unit and he/she still makes quota for enlisting your ass. That's p...

Re: Preparation for RASP
The 35 series also has a lot of opportunity as an Option 40, going to the Regiment's RMIB is a very select group of intelligence and signals professionals and I would highly suggest looking into that.

Re: Preparation for RASP
Get what you want from your recruiter, or find another recruiter. You are a civilian and don't owe them anything. 18x as an enlistment option is some tough sledding, much better success rate from those that go there after being in the Army (and especially Regiment) for awhile. There are some SF site...

Re: Introduction-Luky
Well that's quite the story.
There are even better ones around here, take some time to read them especially the letters from school and the experiences of those that showed up here as civilians and made their way into the Regiment. Also, always capitalize Ranger.
