I don't think of it as hijacking my post, I like to think of as my little front porch for the neighbors to mosey on by, sit a spell, and get aquainted over a cup of coffee.

Thanks for the welcomes,

Ranger IntelToad,

Yes, I was only assigned there to attend PCT at Bad Tolz.

Were you stationed there as well?

Phew, Sorry I misread your question. I didn't frequent that particular bar, however, there was a club called Tracadero that we did go to. "Way back in the 80's", as my teenaged son says There was also a 'Kino' (theatre with bar-like environment) in Landstuhl that we also visited. Angry

Hey Cat,

I did have fun in KTown. I lived at ROB(Rhine Ordinance Barracks) by the Opel Plant.

Are you referring to Annabella Strasse? No, fortunately(I think), I didn't.

I did my EMT-Basic OJT at Landstuhl (2nd General) though...

I have some acquaintances that are USAF Security Police and can confirm the Ranger BadMuther's point of them wearing a very dark blue beret. There is also a group called the 'Phoenix Ravens' that essentially does counter terrorism security for AF bases that have flight lines. I personally have never...

I cannot testify to this, however, Ranger BadMuther's theory is supported in an article in the San Diego Union-Tribune that states that reason for the racial disparity is the following: Problems passing swimming tests. Limited time with wives and families. Few post-military career options. Lack of m...

Special Forces Recruitment

I am not sure if this is the appropriate forum, however, my teenaged son happened to ask me if SF personnel are 'recruited'? As a ex-REMF, I ain't got a clue... I know that there is SFAS, but, do you volunteer or are you 'invited' from say the Ranger Battalions or other Combat Arms? What abou...

Oilpatch, Ranger Luna, Ranger EarthPig and rangercamaro, Thanks to you guys for the hospitality. Oilpatch, I was stationed in K'Town(Kaiserslautern) and I spent the majority of my time in the field, on security duty, or at schools(anyone familiar with the PCT course at Bad Tolz?). BTW, There weren't...

Thanks for the warm welcome into the Ranger 'den'. I do enjoy the company of such fine folks.

BTW, I was more of a security guard than cop....(not that there's anything wrong with that.)

Formal Introduction of AngryPistols

I have been lurking at this site for quite awhile and thought it was more than fitting for me to intro...
