Yea, pretty much. It's probably just the 2000 degree heat coming out the back end with the exhaust that makes it unpleasant, but personally I didn't mind it. BTW, the first step to dealing with an issue is admitting you have one. You have just taken a step towards recovery...let's drown that s...

I've smelled worse things. Could have been actual diesel. It's just JP8 though, same stuff they use in the choppers I think. Could be wrong, but that's what I was informed they used. But it's like anything else, you get used to it I guess. Smell of cordite though, that was kinda bad. I'm glad some f...

I intend to. I'm not a Ranger, and I certainly didn't jump (hey, I'll admit it...I was too scared to jump! I get frightened if I get above 6 feet :P), but it smelled to me.

Appreciate the confirmation guys. Time to go downrange.

I figured as much, but...like all tall tales, it gets better! He said he did a few combat jumps, but the last jump his chute collapsed at a thousand feet, so that cost him the use of his legs...but just for a little bit after some wheelchair time. I'm working on getting more details out of him befor...

Oh I've got a few avatars to pick from. I'll get around to it. Out by the treeline you say? Alrighty. Hope the trees aren't too dry...could make for a bad day if they catch fire from the engine. Oh yes, I forgot to mention ranks. Was an E-4 Specialist upon leaving Active duty, and was an E-5 ...

Not sure where to ask this...

...but I figured this was as good a place as any. Redirect me if I'm mistaken please. Anyways, to the questions. I was curious about some details for Rangers and SF. I've seen someone claim to have been within the 75th Ranger Regiment, but due to 'constant training' was never assigned to a specific ...

Greetings

I served seven years in service with the US Army. Two years active duty with A Co, 1-8 Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division as an M1A2 Abrams tank crewman (the name gave it away, and I know you guys saw me coming a mile away anyway) then served 5 years with Reserve Drill Sergeants at D Co, 2/334/9th BDE 84...
