Re: All checked in to Airborne School!

Thinking the whole time that the 141 is coming straight at you!!! What 141, don't you mean C-119? Both the C-119 and C-141 are out of the system. We are getting old. At least I admit it. I still miss the 141. Call me a jackass, but I actually liked jumping it. It ranks right behind the C-17 w...

Re: Enlistment Update and Ship Date

I'm pretty sure he meant Pre-Ranger. The big Army has a tendency to refer to that course as RIP for some reason.

You don't have much time at all. I hope you are in some kind of decent shape. Congrats on the contract.

Re: Change to Contract

if this recruiter doesn't have the connections to get you out of the reserves in less than the time he stated, he's not a very good recruiter. but anyway, you will have to be released in order to go active. You could feasibly dep loss, but then you would have to wait until that debacle is fixed and ...

Re: Corpsman jailed for unauthorized medal

OK. Anybody catch the fact that it said he was 19 and a Senior Chief? Maybe Im wrong but how many 19 year olds make THAT rank? Its E-6 dudes. Actually, Senior is E-8. Cheif (CPO) is E-7, and PO1 (MM1 or whatever rate they are) are E-6. PO2, or second class (MOS like MM2) are E-5's like his girlfrie...

Re: Split training in USAR and option 40

You have found nothing because there is not really anything you can do to make a commander release you. You should, however, talk to him/her and make them understand why you are interested in your goal and also state that though the unit may lose you, the Army is definitely not. All you are asking f...

Re: Alternative route to RIP

This is classic. I come in tonight to this fucking shit. Now, the citizenship thing is accelerated once you are IN THE MILITARY. Doesn't apply to DEPs or trainees. 160 pu's is complete fucking rubbish. I would let a SEAL grade an ARMY PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST when I make my mother exit a fucking aircra...

Re: Disqualified from Opt 40?

I am not so sure you are DQ.

When you go to MEPS, if you require a medical waiver for the hearing then yes, you probably are. If you are, then you will be DQ from ABN as well.

Wait, and keep providing more info as the situation develops.

Re: Becoming a Ranger from within the army?

Infantry units send their Soldiers to Ranger school. You may also request assignment to the 75TH through the Recruiting team that handles all Special Operations Assignments.

The best bet is to enlist with an Option 40 contract and DON'T FUCKING WASTE THE SLOT.
