Re: TRYING TO JOIN
I am assuming you had a grade determination that states you will keep E-6? I have not heard of a situation where a person was not allowed to voluntarily reduce themselves to join. We put a former CPT back in as a SGT so he could go 18X. I say get back with your recruiter to notify you when you would...

Re: Quick question
Sorry I haven't been on much, but I will add one more thing. You should explain to your mom, that the days of the military being any kind of lastb resort are long gone. I'm sure the parents here do not think their children were lost cases, no matter what their initial feeling to them joining was. Yo...

Re: update on enlistment
I guess all I can do is email him 2 or 3 times a week and call once a week. Around the end of the month, if he has not made quota, he may become more motivated. Yea, that's the thing Ranger Jim, He leaves at the end of the month. He told me no worries though because all the hard work was done and t...

Re: Preparing to Sign My Option 40
If an MOS had Option 40 attached to it, choosing that MOS would mean you have to attend Airborne school. Option 40 is the only Option that needed t be on the screen, not Option 4 (Airborne training) or any weird combination. Just because it was a Truck Driver does not mean the guy would not need to ...

Re: possible recruitment process
You sure he's a Major? Majors don't recruit Joes. They are usually in specialized recruiting like Doctors, Nurses, Lawyers or Chaplains. Even then, MAJ's are rare. Usually a BQ Captain. The only reason I could see a MAJ even being involved in something like this is the occasional company commander, ...

Re: Please help with info on medical question
I would have to look up ligament replacement as a disqualifier, but best case it is deifinetly a medical waiver. This alone is probably going to kill your chances of an option 40.

Re: A complicated query (vision req.)
You should not need any waivers for an option being added while in training. I've never heard of it, anyway.
