It could and I'm definately not saying that it is a common or often used alternative, but I have seen and heard of it. My common treatment for a tamponade, or any other soon to cause death without immediate surgical intervention syndrome is to drive faster.

I am not considering what I will do should I fail to obtain an option 40. I will not even let that thought enter my mind since it is the first step towards failure. Next thing you know I will have an option 40 and be worried about what if I don't make it through rip, what if I get injured, and so on...

I needed the RE code waiver because I received an uncharacterized discharged, since my reserve unit couldn't get me a school slot for phase two of my training and therefore I never became MOS qualified. I am now entering the army as a glossary non-prior service canidate. Thank you.
