Re: 5 Mile Run Improvement
Im currently struggling to take off time in my 5 mile run. I weight 195 lbs at 5’8. Today I ran 42:50 but I know the minimum is 40 and I dont want to go to my benning “barely” passing. My two miles is at 13:38 so I dont worry about that. Any tips? Im also trying to lose 15 lbs by February, I think ...

Re: Introduction -Lyric
Lyric, your pushup scores are solid! However, your situp score is exactly one situp above the standard for Regiment..... Also, your run times suck. You are going to be competing with other like minded, fit individuals when you get to Pre-RASP to compete for a class up spot. Waking up a little earlie...

Re: Introduction -Lyric
Lyric, good job crushing your ACFT! Also, your analysis is spot on. Whatever your "motivating factor" is, you better find it and dig deep. I promise you after AIT its only going to get harder in the pipeline that you are going for. Hard work betrays none, and overall great sitrep!

Re: Introduction -Lyric
First off... If you've read around the site and lurked for awhile (which you said you did) then you know what a good intro looks like, a simple "Hello Rangers" would suffice. We are not your buddies, knock out 25 pushups, and do one for the Airborne Ranger In The Sky. First impressions go ...

Re: Sitrep- Ange
Ange, I was a holdover for a month in AIT before I went RASP. Anything worth doing is worth waiting for as a wise Ranger once told me. I HIGHLY recommend that you use this down time to train more and get your body ready for RASP if it is what YOU want to do. If the opportunity presents itself, then ...

Re: Introduction - Giorgi
Giorgi, welcome to the forum. Even though you did not get an Option 4 or an Option 40, there will be opportunities to pick up a contract once you are in BCT/AIT. For now however, tell us about yourself. Why do you want to be a Ranger, and what is what your PT looking like? Be sure to read the sticki...

Re: Sitrep- Ange
Ange, solid SITREP. That's a good new baseline to have for your RPFT, and it's even better because you still have a quarter of AIT to knock out so you have plenty of time. Keep each other motivated, and keep doing the extra little things because it will 100% pay dividends once you get to Pre-RASP/RA...

Re: Introduction
Give us another PT test in one month to see how your scores are, and let us know when you sign your Option 40 and what MOS you chose. Until then, start reading, and don't quit until you get what you want.

Highly recommend you check out the fitness improvement threads on the site. Have you picked up an Option 40 yet? Why do you want to be a Ranger? Keep us updated.
