Re: Introduction - Deimos

First of all congratulations on getting the 68W. I agree with Doc_Dino it is the best!!! Now continue to bother your recruiter to update your slot to an Opt 40. Yes it can be done. I am sure PerryB will happen along in a bit and he will tell you the same thing. Your recruiter has to call the ROC, so...

Re: Intro-John

John when you sign a contract let me know. I was mentored by a great medic on here and am paying my dues forward by trying to help the future medics. That being said ensure that you read the pipeline for medics in the regiment and what is expected of you. Good luck!

Re: Intro - 68wHopeful

First I would start to think of other names. I believe that once Ranger Steadfast comes along you will need to change your name. 68W cannot be in it as you have not yet attained that title. I can only say that from my past experience...... Second there are a lot of great improvement programs right h...

Re: Intro - Brian

Make sure that you follow Ranger Jim's instructions first off. Second hopefully you realize this is not Facebook. Look around and do lots of searches. As for being old you are not old at that age. I enlisted at 34 years old married with 4 kids. I am now 36. The only thing that I can say is it seems ...

Re: Introduction - Eric

I agree with Ranger Jim. That is the single most important thing to discuss / get squared away before anything else. If she is not on board life will be very difficult if not impossible and one of two things will happen. Split up or you will resent the Rangers / Army and you will not be there mental...

Re: Introduction-Jake

Roger Ranger Steadfast would be the appropriate response. If you have looked around you will see this is not Facebook or any other dumb website. Now to answer your question. If you make it through RASP and complete PreSOCM and then complete SOCM (which go read the SOCM review by bloody_limey to see ...

Re: Intro: Jimming

Any low impact exercise you can continue to do. Biking is great. However if you have access to a pool it would be even better to swim. You get a great cardio workout.

Re: Intro-Cameron

Ark, First you obviously have plenty of time so don't sign anything you are not willing to live with. Second if you truly want to be a Ranger Medic then get the Opt 40 in the contract. Lately it has been a little bit harder to volunteer as a medic at Airborne. Not sure if that will change soon or no...

Re: SITREP-BuckysGlock

Congratulations! That is the first step in your long path. Now do not neglect your PT while in holdover. Our group was in holdover for almost 4 weeks. Make sure that you keep yourself out of trouble, and keep up with the PT. Any advantage that you can gain will help. That is great to hear that there...

Re: Intro-Cameron

Welcome. Read the sitrep from bloody Limey about the medic pipeline. That breaks it down about as good as you are going to get. If you have specific questions let me know.

I am pretty sure once a week would be fine. Rucking overall takes a toll on your body.

Re: Intro- Eric

What MOS are you looking into? Based on your intro and the education you are pursuing I would guess a 68W. If so read Bloody_limey's overview. If you have questions pertaining to the training let me know.

Ranger Steadfast he went to 3rd. I only know that because I caught up with him for a few min the other day. He is probably still having fun in processing.
