Don't worry too much about how RIP is now or was in the back in the day stories. I can guarantee you will still get your ass smoked. I personally think having a weekend off is a good test to see how many wannabees will fuck up and ruin their chances of being a Ranger. I was at the RIP detachment for...

When I was a Pre-Ranger instructor we had a class that decided that they could come up with their own SOP. They all put their boots on top of their wall lockers dress right dress. Looked OK, but that was not the SOP. While they were in class we threw all their boots in one room and then gave them 5 ...

To be assigned to a Ranger Batt. you must be airborne qualified. To go to Ranger School you do not have to be airborne qualified.

There will be plenty of people with Ranger contracts that will quit before they get to RIP. Alot of people that think they wanted to be a Ranger change their mind after basic, AIT, and Airborne school. It's easy to read books and watch movies and think how great it would be to become a Ranger, SEAL,...

The proper flutter kick is not a simple answer. When you are doing morning PT, you will be expected to do proper flutter kicks. When you are getting "smoked" flutter kicks will not end up being proper flutter kicks or you are obviously not getting smoked. You will end up in the dying cockr...

Actually your metabolism by the end of Ranger School is very slow. Your metabolism is slowing down so it can try to maintain on so few calories. After you graduate you will look like a fat chipmunk because your body thinks it is still suppose to store all these calories. It will take you a couple of...

Go to the recruitment forum and ask S. Plavney. He is a recruiter and he can help you. If you really want to go to Ranger Batt. you need to try hard and get it in your contract. You will not lose your infantry slot. The army always needs infantry. Everyone with a Ranger Contract and E-4 and below go...

Morris0352 and TooYoung: I can assure you, you do not want your parents to come down for Airborne graduation. Unless it has changed since I went through, the second you walk off the parade field from Airborne graduation the RIP cadre meet you there and it is not a pleasant experience. I doubt you wa...
