Re: Introduction - 1/75 Veteran
Hello everyone. My name is Jake and I am a former Ranger assigned to C company 1/75 from 1998-2001 in 2nd Platoon 3rd squad during my tenure (PSG Malloy, SL SGT Campbell/SGT Williams, TL SPC Kupratty). The Director of the Army Staff has cancelled the contract to teach the one week Orientation class at the Army Force Management School. This was a block of instruction for all newly assigned officers, civilians and enlisted assigned to the Army Staff in the Pentagon. The class was taught 26 - 35 tim...

Re: Obtaining a Slot - the Process?
Rangers, The answer is that I didn't meet the PT score cut-off. Cut-off was 285, I had a 275. My score improved at the end of the cycle, but I couldn't attend the Ranger PT's so since I wasn't in the pre-Ranger program I was not able to go. I think we had about 15 going to RTAC - I guess they have ...

Re: Obtaining a Slot - the Process?
My recommendation to you: Go focus on being a good PL, mastering mounted maneuver and learning as much as you can about people. PL time is short (too short), so enjoy it as long as you can. When you pin on CPT and go to the MCCC, work a slot for Ranger school. Scheduled Officer Education System time...

Re: Veteran detained for anti-government Facebook posts
OK, let me get this straight. A former military member writes some things on his internet social page that annoys folks. He writes that there is a possibility of violence in the future due to the fucked up politics of this country. Then he posts a single line from a song called "bring me down&...

Re: Keith Swank
I had the misfortune of having Paulus as my first squad leader. Search this site for Skyjacker for more info. Or google him in conjunction with Clay Aiken. There are a number of amusing tales from C Co. involving Paulus, to include legends such as a sleeping bag suspended out a 3rd story barracks w...

Here's his response: I joined the Army in August of 1986. I went to Fort Benning for Basic, AIT, and jump school. I ended up at: E Co. 109th MI BN. Fort Lewis. I was in a LRSU unit that was attached to a military intelligence company. I went to Ranger school 7/87 and HALO school 1/88. Keit...

I think I have a pretty decent chance at passing ranger school because of my previous rotc experience which gave me a little more experience in land nav, opord and patrolling than your average pfc. Oh really? Some ROTC training gives a person a decent chance of passing Ranger School?? You be funny ...

Re: Graduated
Good evening Rangers! I am glad to say that today I graduated RASP class 07-12. I can honestly say that putting that scroll and tan beret on for the first time is one of the best moments in my life. Being apart of the lineage of the Rangers before me makes me feel extremely honored. Our class gradu...

Re: Ruptured Disc! Advice needed.
Thanks for the quick replies and for sharing your experiences. The disc in question is a ruptured L5/S1. The fibrous annulus (outer ring) was completely severed and nucleus propulsus (acidic jelly) squeezed out onto the nerves of the lumbar plexus - affecting my sciatic nerve. This was confirmed by...
