Hip/SI joint issues?
My knees are fine but my spine, feet and hips are messed up. I guess the force of the impacts from rucking/PT in jungle boots all went somewhere, just not my knees. Anyone else having problems with their SI (sacroiliac) joint? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacroiliac_joint I'll be 49 in the spring bu...

Re: ridethepony's take
Ranger Puck answered it. They brain fuck themselves from the first week in Basic. "Wow.....this sucks. Just imagine what the Ranger life must be! It must suck a million times more." Then, they listen to all the little rumors from the "loser brigade" about how people die in train...

Re: Tabata?
This is pretty close to HIIT or High Intensity Interval Training. I did a very simple version where I set my timex ironman to count down in 2 min intervals. Then walked for 2 min, jogged for 2 min, then sprinted for 2 min. Did that for 2 miles. Got my PT scores down to 6 minute miles for 2 miles, wh...

Re: U.S. Army Ranger School (Videos)
Now I remember the PVS-2s, they were big heavy bastards! I was on the defense on Santa Rosa Island. My Ranger Buddy and I dug a two man fighting position with our canteen cups on top of one of the sand dunes. We put our M-16s on the bottom then squatted down and fell asleep in the hole. It's one thi...

Cayton was the HMFIC when I was there and Lamica took me on my first Ranger PT run. The first of many RIP smoke sessions!

Quit smoking and hanging around strippers. Leave something fun for after Ranger School. Do Rangers still get a 9 day pass to get their heads straight and learn to eat again?

Re: Lloyd Irvin's Martial Arts Academy
A PG County cop threatened to confiscate my new 4x4 pickup (got it for myself for getting my master's degree) because the license plate was out of date. I had a letter from the DMV with a phone number to call if stopped by police to indicate that it was a DMV problem. Guy got pissed and said he coul...

Re: Martial arts for young teenage girl
TKD is fine for kids and gives you some kicking ability, I did it for four years with the wife and kids. The wife and kids all have their blackbelts, I got to brown and told them that I couldn't afford to pay for another damn Bbelt exam! That and I could give a shit about the 100 forms you had to da...

Re: Lloyd Irvin's Martial Arts Academy
Seriously though, I'd check out the rec clubs at UMD and see if you can't find something that works for you. Lloyd Irvin's looks good but I'll bet it gets expensive.
Best of luck to you and don't ever, ever piss off a PG County cop!

I think they got a hold of some of Chuck Norris' tears....I don't know how and I thought they were supposed to cure cancer...maybe it was Chuck's ball sweat? Some mysteries are best left alone!
